Polyhydroxy acid, gluconolactone, softens the bonds between dead skin cells making it easy for them to be removed. Meanwhile, bamboo microparticles work in synergy with volcanic perlite to mechanically buff away loosened dead skin cells to reveal the fresh skin beneath.
